Perfection in Yellow and Purple – Your Visible Statement

The design of the Intersex Flag is a masterful break with old conventions. No stripes, no classic pink or blue. Instead, a vibrant purple circle shines on a continuous sunny yellow background. This design is graphically extremely memorable and immediately catches the eye. Visually, it consciously foregoes typical gender colors and instead relies on a symbol of indivisibility and wholeness.

Whether shining brightly in the light at the next Pride parade or as a luminous anchor on your room wall – the strong contrast of this flag guarantees maximum visibility. It is a powerful sign of bodily self-determination and immediately attracts attention at every CSD or community event.

On our product images, the flag, in its full size of 150×90 cm, is presented by two very special people: Joyce DeLone (here Out of Drag) and Marcel Wölk. Marcel uses a wheelchair and is not only a volunteer amateur model but also a permanent member of Team Behinderte. Their pro bono efforts in front of the camera give this flag a real, human face and wholeheartedly support our mission.

Made from lightweight yet durable polyester, the flag weighs just 80 grams. This allows it to unfurl beautifully in the lightest summer breeze. Two firmly anchored metal eyelets on the left side make hanging it on a flagpole, a balcony railing, or draping it over your shoulders absolutely effortless.

PrideMerch is much more than just an ordinary shop. We are a purely volunteer inclusion project, supported by Team Behinderte of Queer Cities e.V. from Bremen. By purchasing this flag, you not only show solidarity with the Inter* community but also directly fund our main goal: the long-term creation of real, barrier-free jobs for people with and without disabilities.

Die Intersex-Flagge – Gelb und Violett für körperliche Selbstbestimmung

Die Intersex-Flagge setzt ein unmissverständliches, kraftvolles und zutiefst würdevolles Statement für die Rechte und die Sichtbarkeit intergeschlechtlicher Menschen. Ihr zeitloses, ikonisches Design besteht aus einem perfekten violetten Kreis auf einem leuchtend gelben Hintergrund. Beide Farben wurden ganz bewusst gewählt, um sich radikal von den traditionell geschlechtlich aufgeladenen Farben Rosa und Blau zu distanzieren.

Der geschlossene, makellose Kreis im Zentrum symbolisiert Ganzheit, Unversehrtheit und den Stolz auf den eigenen Körper, genau so, wie er von der Natur geschaffen wurde. Ob als unübersehbares Zeichen bei einer Menschenrechts-Demonstration, als stolzer Begleiter auf dem nächsten Christopher Street Day oder als klares Statement für Akzeptanz in den eigenen vier Wänden – diese Flagge transportiert puren Stolz und setzt ein wichtiges Zeichen gegen Diskriminierung.

Das wegweisende Design wurde 2013 vom Aktivisten Morgan Carpenter entworfen und ist heute, unter anderem als elementarer Bestandteil der modernen Progress Pride Flagge, ein weltweit geliebtes Symbol für die universellen Menschenrechte.
